About me
Hello, I’m Clayton. Born in South Africa and raised in the picturesque suburbs of Cape Town. I have a background in computer science and a family legacy in academia. I find joy in exploring various interests such as the world of coffee, staying active at the gym, capturing moments through photography, and embarking on adventures through travel. Currently, I work as a lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at the University of the Western Cape. I teach students the essentials of Java programming, data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis. I’m also pursuing my PhD under the guidance of Prof. Tommie Meyer at the University of Cape Town, focusing on knowledge representation and reasoning. My research background includes working with propositional logic and belief revision. My current work has two aims. The first is to predict individual human responses to belief revision problems. The second is to investigate the effect of confirmation bias in human belief revision. I’m fortunate to have Prof. Marco Ragni from Chemnitz University of Technology as my PhD co-supervisor, bringing expertise in cognitive logics to enrich my studies.
